ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE
A Beatles Show That Will Rock your Valentine’s Day
May Pang, Nancy Andrews and Shannon Share Their LOVE of the Beatles by Exhibiting John, Paul, George and Ringo
1/25/11- Photographers May Pang and Nancy Lee Andrews, long time friends and companions of John Lennon and Ringo Starr and Beatles Artist “Shannon” will hold an exhibition and book signing in February at the National Arts Club in New York City. The week long exhibit, titled All You Need Is Love, is a Valentine’s Day celebration of art & photography dedicated to the Beatles.
An artists’ reception and book signing. With May, Nancy and Shannon (who have not appeared together since last year’s Beatles Tribute Cruise) will be held on Tuesday February 8th (the 47 year anniversary of the Beatles first arrival in America) from 6- 8 PM at the National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, Grand Gallery, New York City.
May Pang and Nancy Lee Andrews will be exhibiting their unique and intimate photos of the Fab Four taken during their relationships with John and Ringo. May Pang was John’s personal assistant and went on to become his lover and companion for almost 2 years. May will be signing copies of her best-selling photo book “Instamatic Karma” (St. Martin’s Press). May also authored “Loving John” which is a fascinating tale of her relationship with John and is a must read for any John Lennon fan.
Nancy Lee was introduced to Ringo by May Pang and John Lennon in May of 1974. She spent seven years with Ringo and the former Ford model turned photographer took the hundreds of pictures she took of Ringo and a few of his famous friends and created her book “A Dose of Rock and Roll” (Dalton Watson Fine Books). May and Nancy will both be signing copies of their books at the reception on the 8th.
Shannon is widely regarded as “The World’s Greatest Beatles Artist” (it only takes one look at her work to see why) a title bestowed upon her by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool in 1998. Bill Heckle, owner of the world famous Cavern Club, brought in Shannon to create over 100 original Beatles pieces of art for the Hard Days Night Hotel. It was a massive task, which she finished in less than one year. Shannon is the first non-musician to be inducted to the Cavern Club’s Wall of Fame. On display will be Shannon’s original paintings and Giclee prints. She will debut the much anticipated painting Lennon at 70.
