Yesterday, I got a chance to see the Independence of the Seas up close and personal and was simply blown away by what I saw and wanted to share it. I’ve cruised over a dozen times on 5 or 6 different ships but none of them even compares to this one.
I checked out each of the venues we’ll be using, the cabins, the amenities and even sampled the food. Everywhere I went I was imagining our Beatles Tribute Cruisers enjoying themselves.
The first area we visited was the Promenade which runs the length of the ship and looks just like Main Street in a quaint village, just updated to our time frame. It has street lights, park benches and a number of restaurants like Sorrentino’s for pizza, Ben Jerry’s for Ice Cream, a British tavern and a Champagne Bar and shops to enjoy. At night there is a parade down this Main Street with stars in the sky. I could Imagine a group of our Beatles Tribute Cruisers sitting out there at night with their guitars playing Beatles songs into the night, so bring your guitar for this and BritBeat’s Beatles Guitar Workshop. If you have a promenade view cabin you’ll be overlooking this area.
We checked out the three story dining room and our private area that our group will be seated in together. Imagine eating dinner one night with May Pang and breakfast with Chris O’Dell the next day and lunch with Paul Saltzman, Nancy Andrews or Jorie Gracen another day. We did sample the food and it was awesome. Remember, all your meals are included in your cruise and each gourmet meal is All You Can Eat. If you want another lobster, just ask…if you didn’t care for the first thing you ordered just ask for something else. The wait staff is there to please you and make sure your food is cooked just the way you want it. There are also a number of specialty restaurants that you can choose from like Chops, Johnny Rockets or many others spread out through the ship.
We checked out the Flow Rider, a surfing machine your kids will love, the rock climbing wall, the full court basketball (maybe a little One on One with Shannon) and volleyball court and of course the pools. Yes, I did say pools because there are three of them, one for everyone, one called the Solarium (ADULTS ONLY…YEAH)…with Cantilevered Whirlpools that swing out over the water and the H2O Zone for the kids.
We also took a quick look at the Ice Skating Rink, this facility doubles as a Musical Venue called Studio B complete with hundreds of closed circuit TVs. BritBeat will do their Beatles Dance Set List in this incredible facility and I could just imagine hundreds of our Beatles Tribute Cruisers dancing the night away alongside our Beatles Insiders. It will be a night to remember.
We stopped in to the casino. I Imagined myself sitting at a Blackjack table with May Pang, Chris O’Dell, Shannon and Nancy Andrews or taking over a roulette table with the guys from BritBeat.
Care to join me?
I always like to get in a couple of good workouts while on a cruise (attempting to burn off the extra food I pack away) so we went down to the Spa and Fitness center which was amazing. Tons of varied types of equipment in pristine condition, lots of ways to burn fat, build muscle or stretch out and there is even a boxing ring.
The Spa has every kind of Beauty Treatment you might need to purchase: Hair Styling, Manicures, Pedicures, Facials, Ocean Wraps, Aroma Stone Therapy Massages, (my wife and I love the couples massage, it’s very romantic) and an exotic Jasmine Bath on it’s full Menu of services.
We were very pleased to see how exceptional the facilities we’ll be using for our Private Beatles Events (BTW…our Beatles Events have been carefully scheduled to not interfere with our time docked in Belize City, Cozumel and Costa Maya…we want you to enjoy everything this cruise has to offer including these beautiful Caribbean ports) and we could not be more pleased. Each venue will allow us to shine a light on BritBeat and our Beatles Insiders in a way that has never been seen before. We’ll have multi-media presentations (check out our Cruise Itinerary for complete details) with Paul Saltzman, Jorie Gracen and May, Chris and Nancy.
As a die-hard, first generation Beatles fan, I’m very proud to bring you the First Annual Beatles Tribute Cruise. I know that when you choose to join us you’ll be walking off that ship with relationships with our Beatles Insiders that would not be possible at any other Beatles event and you will experience something that you will remember for the rest of your life.
