Beatles Tribute Cruise 2011- Line Up

I’ve been hinting around that we would be ready to announce our line-up very soon and we now have enough guests signed on that we can at least announce what we have. More guests will be added as we get closer to the sailing date.
First the Nuts and Bolts of Beatles Tribute Cruise 2011. We set sail from Miami on 3/5/11 for 8 nights…yes it’s the “Eight Days A Week Cruise” aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas (sister ship to the Independence of the Seas, so our returnung cruisers will feel right at home). We’ll make stops at San Juan, St Martin, St Thomas and Labadee before returning to Miami.

Now for our line-up…drum roll please. We are very pleased to announce that Laurence Juber, two-time Grammy Award Winner and former lead guitarist for Wings will be joining us. LJ will offer two of his acoustic guitar concerts, a Beatles guitar Workshop and LJ will also offer a limited number of individual guitar lessons to our private list of Beatles Tribute Cruisers. Wait until you hear LJ work his acoustic guitar magic on your favorite Beatles or Wings songs. Watch for “LJ Plays the Beatles Volume 2″ to be released on CD this summer.

For our Beatles Tribute Band we proudly present “Yesterday- A Tribute To the Beatles”. Yesterday has been performing the Beatles since 1986 and has worked in places like the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, the Legends Family Theater in Branson and the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City. In the Tropicana was a The Liverpool Club setting which was a reproduction of the famed Cavern Club, home of the Beatles first shows. It was created specifically by the Tropicana for Yesterday’s 2007 summer run. Critically acclaimed, ‘The British Are Coming!’ proved so successful it was extended for (3) three years at the Tropicana Hotel Casino and became Atlantic City’s longest running musical of its kind. They have toured the world with seven tours of Japan, dozens more to Canada, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Bahamas, Mexico and United States military bases throughout the World, these Entertainers have performed on five continents. This Top Of The Line Beatles Tribute Band will be performing fourtimes during our “Eight Days A Week Cruise” and conducting their own Beatles guitar workshop.
We are also bringing along long-time Beatles friend and confidant Tony Bramwell who worked as Brian Epstein’s right hand man at NEMS and is the author of “Magical Mystery Tours- My Life With The Beatles”. As Paul McCartney once said “If you want to know anything about the Beatles, ask Tony Bramwell. He remembers more than I do”…and so we will. It will be a real pleasure for us to be able to talk Beatles History with Tony…he was there, right from the start.

We are not through yet, we’ve also been priviledged to have Tony Perkins join us. One of TV and radio personality Tony Perkins’ earliest memories is seeing The Beatles on “The Ed Sullivan Show” as a toddler. He has been a fan ever since. Tony was the weatherman and feature reporter for ABC’S “Good Morning America” from 1999 to 2005. During that time he became known to Beatles’ fans nationwide for his interviews with Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Yoko Ono, and many others. As the show’s best-known pop music aficionado, he presented highly regarded pieces on George Harrison’s death, the twentieth anniversary of John Lennon’s death, the re-emergence of Ringo, “Let it Be…..Naked”, and many other topics. In addition to this, Tony has appeared often at “The Fest for Beatles Fans” as a panelist and interviewer.

During the cruise, Tony will show excerpts of his interviews with Ringo Starr, and will talk about his interactions with Starr, Paul McCartney, Olivia Harrison, Yoko, various members of Wings.

It wouldn’t be the Beatles Tribute Cruise if we did not have our friends and mentors Joe Johnson, the creator and host of the nationally syndicated radio show Beatle Brunch, and Don E Gee along with us.
These gentlemen have been instrumental in helping us put together, organise and run these Beatles Tribute Cruises and as I said on the last cruise “We do not want to do these cruises without them”.

There will be more guests added to this incredible cruise as we get closer to it.

    Hey guys,

Wanted to tell you about this incredible Beatles cover band called THE FAB FAUX. They are the closest Beatles sounding band I’ve ever come across; it’s almost like a trip back to the 60′s. They are gonna be playing in Washington D.C. on 5/22/2010 at Lisner Auditorium. Do check them out and support the music.
